Has it really only been one week?
Bolo's ashes came home today. Dad had chosen a lovely wooden box. On the way home from the Vet's he said that if there was any irony in the world, the box would have a Made in China tag on it. We looked and didn't see one. Drat.
I don't know if it was the Vet or the Crematorium (why is that such a hard word for me to say today?), but one of them made a cast of Bolo's footprint and included it with the ashes. I broke out in tears at the Vet's office when I saw it. Right there in the reception area.
I need to thank everyone for their lovely words this past week and the nice tributes to Bolo. Ear scratches to all of you that enjoy then, and hugs to those that don't.
The Mom
Hey everyone, Stuffy here, following through on a request from Mr. Bolo to keep you updated on how everyone is doing.
Puppy is doing well, but he made Mom cry on Sunday when he went up to the big bed and said "Bo. Doggy?" For those that don't speak 2 year old, that means, where's Bolo? Mom told him, "Bolo's crossed the Rainbow Bridge Puppy. But he's still watching over you." And Puppy then got on the bed a proceeded to jump around like one of the 5 little monkeys.
As for Mom and Dad, well, I've asked some of the other stuffies around for their opinion:
The general consensus is that Mom and Dad are managing. They still look for him hiding on the new sofa. I know Mom still looks for him to be sitting on the bed when she comes out of her shower and I know that she misses the warning bark and jingling tags when she comes in the front door.
Don't worry, I'm keeping an eye on them.

Woeful Wednesday
It's sad news that I have to report but I've told Mom that
it's time. I've told Dad that it's
time. I tried to tell Puppy but all he
wanted to do was hop like a bunny.
I wanted to stay longer.
I'm sorry that I won't get to see my Uncle Brett on this side of The
Bridge again. He was one of my favourite
people ever. I wanted to make sure Puppy
grows up with a healthy respect and love for animals, especially dogs and
especially Shar Peis. I've asked Stuffie
to keep you updated on how our family is doing after I've crossed The
Bridge. And if a few of you could remind
them every now and then in blog comments or Facebook messages that I'll love
them forever, I'd appreciate it.
Could you guys also tell the next dog that joins my family -
because I'm sure there will be another dog at some point - tell that dog that
he (or she) is lucky to get this family as their forever home. There's a lot of love here to share, but that
spot at the end of the bed, the one on Daddy's side, that spot is mine.

Bolo
From Bolo's Mom.
My heart is breaking and I feel that the world should stop
to mourn one of the most gentle of souls as he crosses The Bridge. His Dad and I were right there with him as he Crossed, just as Bolo has been there for every moment of the last 6 years
and 4 months he's been with us.
I always hoped Bolo and I would walk Puppy to his first day
of school and walk him back home again until Bolo was too old to walk that
far. I wish I had spent more time with
Bolo these last two years since I feel he got short changed once Puppy came
along. Most of all, I wish I had more
time to let him know how much I love him.
I really hope he knows.

Weekend Excitement?
Mom says there will be a bit of excitement this weekend, but she's not telling me what's going on.
I hope it involves a sunbeam.
Sniff ya later!
ETA: Miss Jenn came to spend the weekend! I love Miss Jenn. She gives great ear scratches.

I have a Question!
Mom found something that I'll eat.
Beef.
More specifically, minute steak. I had some for supper.
Another thing that I'm eating is pizza bones (crusts). Love me some pizza bones.
Other than that, not much new. I'm doing a lot of sleeping, but that's what happens when you're not feeling good. I did chase a squirrel yesterday, and today it was a groundhog. Mom kept a tight hold on the leash and I couldn't actually RUN after it because she was dragging Puppy along as well.
Which reminds me of the question I wanted to ask. Puppy and I have legs about the same length. Why am I so much faster than he is?
Here's a picture of me just so you remember what I look like.

Stuff on Saturday
That's me with Puppy. He needed a picture for his Day Care of him and his favorite person or thing. According to Mom's description, I'm Puppy's best bud. That's good to know.
Well I had an adventure today, but I wasn't as excited as I've been at other times. Dad, Puppy and I headed out to see Grammy and Bionic Grandad! Mom had to go to work. Mom missed out on fun. Grammy took good care of me and she even made some food for me. I ate it when I got home. It was super yummy - beef and rice. Mom says there are more for this week. Thank you Grammy, it was so yummy.
We've had a lot of thunderstorms around here lately so I've been super cuddle pei most nights. Mom doesn't mind much, but Dad always seems to end up kicked out of bed. I have no idea how that happens. Pei laughter.
