One Week Already?

Has it really only been one week?

Bolo's ashes came home today.  Dad had chosen a lovely wooden box.  On the way home from the Vet's he said that if there was any irony in the world, the box would have a Made in China tag on it.  We looked and didn't see one.  Drat.

I don't know if it was the Vet or the Crematorium (why is that such a hard word for me to say today?), but one of them made a cast of Bolo's footprint and included it with the ashes.  I broke out in tears at the Vet's office when I saw it.  Right there in the reception area.

I need to thank everyone for their lovely words this past week and the nice tributes to Bolo.  Ear scratches to all of you that enjoy then, and hugs to those that don't.

The Mom

Hey everyone, Stuffy here, following through on a request from Mr. Bolo to keep you updated on how everyone is doing.

Puppy is doing well, but he made Mom cry on Sunday when he went up to the big bed and said "Bo.  Doggy?"  For those that don't speak 2 year old, that means, where's Bolo?  Mom told him, "Bolo's crossed the Rainbow Bridge Puppy.  But he's still watching over you."  And Puppy then got on the bed a proceeded to jump around like one of the 5 little monkeys.

As for Mom and Dad, well, I've asked some of the other stuffies around for their opinion:
The general consensus is that Mom and Dad are managing.  They still look for him hiding on the new sofa.  I know Mom still looks for him to be sitting on the bed when she comes out of her shower and I know that she misses the warning bark and jingling tags when she comes in the front door.

Don't worry, I'm keeping an eye on them.

We are managing, too, but the pain is intense. I'm glad you have a Stuffy to watch over puppy. You might hear from Jed and Abby's mom who take care of a memorial blog for all of us. Her address: http://www.ourrainbowfriends.blogspot.com.au/

We have Bitey and Beau on there and Mondo will go up soon.

Take care. Sending lots of hugs.

Thank you for the update. Bolo is constantly in our thoughts and we miss him too. Hope the pain will be less as time passes by but the memories of Bolo would forever be remembered. Hugs to everyone.

It's odd how time will insists on moving forward even when one feels it has ended... We still can't believe our pal is gone.

Ikkyu, #1's first kitty, went to the Bridge in PEI and she got a cast of his paw too when she got his ashes. She though it was the loveliest thing ever and still treasures it.

Thanks for the news, Stuffy. You're doing a great job.

Woofs,
Tommy

Stuffy,
Thanks for checking in with us and letting us know how your family is getting along. When my Beautiful Raja made her final journey the vet waited until after momma and master said goodbye and then they made a card with her paw print for them. When it arrived in the mail it made my humans so sad, but they knew that they did the right thing. I love the Bolo print. He will always be with you.

Mango

Stuffy & Puppy,

We came over today to make sure everybody at your house is OK. Tonight we did a post about Twix and Bolo and then came here and saw this post. Mommy loved Bolo and she will always keep him in her heart.

God Bless........Mona

The pawprint was a nice gesture from the place that did it. We are glad to hear that he is back home where he belongs. We have Passion here with us, and mommy says we will all have a place.
Stuffy, you are doing an excellent job taking care of things and keeping an eye on everyone.
