Tales of Yesterday

Mom here!  Chingmy's Gotcha Day was yesterday.  She's gone from this:

to this:

Yup.  Our little girl is growing up.  Unlike our other Shar Peis, Chingmy is still very food motivated.  Still chewing Puppy's toys, still jumping on us when she gets too excited - although she's gotten a lot better -  and still thinks Puppy is there for her enjoyment only, which is her reason to body slam him at every opportunity - especially near the top of the stairs.  We're working on it.

She is my trial and my joy, like every single other "child" we've had, including Puppy.  Love ya Girlie!

In sad news you may not have heard, our dear friend Hero Shar Pei crossed the bridge this past weekend.  It broke my heart and I wanted very much to stay home from work and hold my children tight (Puppy and Chingmy).  When I heard though, I could clearly see our dear Bolo meeting him at the Bridge and saying, "Welcome, let me show you the best view of your people."  Once Hero settles, I'm sure he'll be teaching Bolo and our First Dog the finer points of swimming.

Run Free Hero.

Happy September!

Hi!  It's Chingmy's Mom here!

Well, it looks like we took the summer off.  It wasn't planned, it just happened that way.  We'll have more time to write now because Puppy started school!  Not just once a week school like Chingmy went to, but every single day type school!  And sometimes she'll get a chance to pick him up!  Like today!

It was the First Day of School - Puppy started Junior Kindergarten - for 4 year olds.  Chingmy was THRILLED to be invited to go and pick him up.  We need to work on our walking manners as even with the Easy Walk harness she was pulling pretty hard.  Is this something that can be fixed with the magic Spray Bottle?  I'll have to investigate.

Remember Us?

Hey, Chingmy's Mom here.  Do you remember us?  I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't.

Life has gotten in the way of blogging.  Who'd a thunkit eh?

Anyway, we're all still hanging around.  We don't get here as often as we should and we're horribly behind in everyone's blog, but we do try and keep up on Facebook.

So in the last few months, we've had fun Adventures:

We met a West Highland White Terrier.

They're a lot bigger than I anticipated.  And stockier.  What a cutie he was though!

We've also been on Car Adventures to get Daddy Coffee.

Little does Chingmy know, Daddy will come from the other direction.  She can be such a goof sometimes.

Then we had to teach Puppy how to drive.

Neither can reach the pedals, so the roads are safe....FOR NOW!

And finally, someone graduated from Intermediate Dog Training.

Sorry the picture looks warped, it was taken on my iPod.

We've also started Agility - which Chingmy LOVES.  She especially LOVES the hot dogs she gets as treats.  And low and behold, she is still anemic and we are still waiting for the go ahead for her Big Girl operation.  So she did go into heat - and NO, I did not get pictures of her in her fancy pants.  But for those who care, they did colour coordinate with her collar.

I think that's it.  We need to start blogging more.

Hope to see everyone again soon!

Stuffy on Sunday

Remember me?

Hi!  It's Stuffy!

I've been really busy being Puppy's #1 favorite carry everywhere toy.  I've been to school, I've been on the bus, to the museums, the store.  I even took Puppy for a haircut a while back.  VERY exciting!

That only means I'm not as active with Chingmy.  Puppy tends to be protective of me because Chingmy likes to put everything and everyone in her mouth - including me.

We did make a nice trip out to visit Grammy and Bionic Grampy last weekend (Mom only got the pictures up on Friday - a bit of slacking off there Mom).  You'll never guess who I saw!

That's right! It's Mayhem!

And she'd gotten a haircut!  She's really happy to be home too because she really missed her windows when she was at our house.

The, of course, Mom realized that we had no picture of Chingmy and I together.  So here it is:

So, remember when I played Camp Leader Stuffy for Baja last summer?  I might get the chance to be Camp Leader Stuffy to another dog this summer.  We'll see if he gets along with Chingmy or not.  We're supposed to meet him sometime in the next two weeks or so.

That's my whole report!  Take Care!

Tug O War Tuesday

Hello!

Chingmy here!

Take a look at my amazing Tug o War skills!  I particularly like my Hip Check and Shoulder Check.  Mom says I'll be able to play pro-hockey when I grow up!  Cool!

Mayhem Monday!

Mayhem here!

I'm back home with my own people!  There are so many squirrels in my backyard!  And so many windows!  I missed my windows!

Big thanks to Chingmy and Puppy and their parents for hosting me.  But it's good to be home.  Oh, and thank you to all my new friends!  We'll see each other again I'm sure.  Puppy and Chingmy will come to visit this summer and bring you with them.  I HOPE!

Peace Out!  Mayhem

Wacky Wednesday

Hi there!  Chingmy here!

See that?  That's me and my Puppy!

I keep hearing Mom saying, Chingmy, no eating Puppy!  Even Puppy says, Chibi, no eating Puppy!  He calls me Chibi.  I like it!

So here's how my Wacky Wednesday went.

Mom dropped Mayhem off at Daycare - I was LIVID!  What about ME!?!?!?!?!?

Then we dropped Daddy off at work, again, HELLO!  What about ME?!?!?!?!?!

The Mom and Puppy dropped me off at my Vet's office.  HEY!  Lots of people to kiss there!  I spent the day with them and all they did was steal my blood.  I was on my best behavior and my lovely Vet and her assistants give the most amazing kisses and cuddles.  I am a very lucky Pei.

I'm just home from this wonderful Wacky adventure and had to share.  That and it's a chance to BLOG!  which I haven't had a chance to do in a LONG time.

Mom wants to add something to my blog, I think I'll let her.

Chingmy Kisses!

Mom here.  Apparently Chingmy is anemic.  She's been dewormed - AGAIN and now the Vet is thinking iron deficiency.  I haven't had any chance to do much research on iron deficiency in dogs yet, but it's on my To Do list.  Chingmy is full of energy and has a healthy appetite.  We'll keep you updated on what we discover.

Mom Hugs!

Mayhem Monday!

Mayhem here!

Do you see my face?  Temp Mom was saying she hadn't been able to get a picture of my face.  Well there it is!  I even got a complimentary tummy rub!

Other than that, I've noticed that Chingmy always has to be in front of me when we walk.  She also tries to jump on my head as often as possible, even when I tell her not to.  So I growl at her, then I eat her food.  She ends up looking at Temp Mom with her Puppy Dog Eyes and Temp Mom says, Serves you right for drinking her water!

Anyway, there are Turnip People to bark at to annoy Temp Dad.

Mayhem out!  PEACE!

Friday Follow-Up - Mom Edition

Hi!  Mom here.

The Girls are fine.  I've just been finding it hard to get time to help them write, post pictures, stuff like that.  Mostly because they tend to sleep through my computer time.  I've learned from experience, Let Sleeping Dogs Lay (or is it Lie?)

When last we blogged, Chingmy was supposed to go for her Big Girl Surgery.  That didn't happen, she was anemic and they decided to hold off for a few weeks.  I should call the vet and see if it's this coming week or not.  Mayhem is doing good and has decided that Chingmy's food is much nicer than her own, mostly because it is always available.  Chingmy sees Mayhem eating her food and looks at me with a "Do SOMETHING!" expression.  Considering Chingmy is constantly drinking Mayhem's water bowl dry, I think it's only fair Mayhem should be eating Chingmy's food.

There's been a lot of this going on:

Which is all good.  The girls have been back to Day Camp, and they'll be going next week as well.  They have fun - which is important.  Socialization, also important.  Most importantly, everyone gets a break from each other!  Thank you Day Camp for saving my sanity - what's left of it.

And finally proof that the two of them can sit together on the same chair - for a short period of time.  No, that is not a mop, that's Mayhem.

If she weren't asleep, Chingmy would be sending :

CHINGMY KISSES!

Pei-Ess Mayhem does indeed have a face.  It's just really hard to photograph with my iPod.
