Bolo's Legacy

I can't believe a month has gone by since Bolo crossed The Bridge, yet every day has seemed like an eternity.  What a strange paradox.

I think it was very good for Puppy to have Baja come to visit.  Bolo was very protective of Puppy but was never too keen on having Puppy cuddle him, or touch him even.  Baja was ok with being squished, almost fallen on, I'm sure we all stepped on her coat accidentally at one time or another, and she certainly didn't mind toddler cuddles:

It certainly showed me what a strong influence Bolo had on Puppy.  I wondered when Bolo crossed what, if anything, Puppy would take away from the experience of having Bolo in his life - I wanted him to have SOMETHING.  I was almost desperate to see ANYTHING in Puppy that Bolo had provided the influence for.  I saw what it was this past week.

It was Puppy's responsibility to put down Baja's food bowl twice a day.  He did an awesome job, and actually eagerly volunteered for it.

It was also Puppy's job to feed Baja cookies after walkies.  He was excellent at this job, and again, he volunteered.

Thank you Bolo for teaching Puppy to care for others so well and without any prompting.

Thanking Thursday

Stuffy here!

Miss Baja has gone home.  Her Mom came to pick her up and Baja was SOOOO excited to see her.  We discovered that Miss Baja is a spinner when she's excited.  She almosty knocked her Mom over she was so excited and spinny!

Miss Baja left an AWESOME thank you card for us full of Nose Kisses!  Our Mom did get to fill up her nose-kiss-o-meter with Miss Baja kisses but she did remark that Miss Baja's nose was a little tiny, compared to a Shar Pei's, and a little pointier.

Thanks for coming to Camp Stuffy Miss Baja!  You're always welcome at our house!

In other news, Mom needs the computer, she wants to post something special for tomorrow.  It will mark one month since Mr. Bolo crossed the Bridge.  I'd better go snuggle with Mom, I can hear tears forming.

Wordy Wednesday

Hi!  It's Stuffy!

See how happy Miss Baja is?  Check out her toy too.  Yeah, that's a hippo.  Remember how much Mr. Bolo liked his hippos?  Yeah, that's a sign from Dog Mom says.

We had another good day.  Miss Baja says those walks are lots of fun, she LOVES to sniff things and most of the stuff is new to her here so it's much more exciting.

Mom caught the most AMAZING picture of Puppy and Miss Baja yesterday and just downloaded it to the computer.  Take a look at this:

Yeah.  That's Puppy hiding in Miss Baja's bed!  Stuffy laughter

Dad thinks it's an AMAZING picture.  Miss Baja doesn't seem too upset.

That's it from Camp Stuffy!

Tummy Rub Tuesday

Stuffy here!

Miss Baja had a good day and got REALLY excited when we dropped Daddy off at work and when we picked him up.  Her Mom works there so she thought maybe her Mom would be there.  But she wasn't and I think that made Miss Baja just a little sad.

But there were treats and tummy rubs and some brushing and Miss Baja felt a little better.  She says she's enjoying Camp Stuffy but Camp is never as good as home.  Miss Baja's Mom called last night and our Mom put her on speakerphone.  Miss Baja was SOOOOOO excited.  Thanks for calling Miss Baja's Mom, I think she really needed to hear your voice.

Monday Monday

As you can see, Miss Baja has been having lots of fun with us here at Camp Stuffy.

Mom and Dad say she's such a little ninja.  We could always hear Mr. Bolo's tags jingle and follow his movements around the house.  Miss Baja is so quiet!  We have to make sure we see her in a room so we don't lock her in the kitchen or the basement or something.

So today was full of cuddles and some brushing, a FUN morning walk where Miss Baja says she sniffed SO many interesting things and then a FUN afternoon walk where she got to meet Horse and she played run up and down the fence with two dogs in Horse's pen.  How cool is that?!?!

Mom thought it was a little sad this morning when Dad left for work, Miss Baja went and stood at the window and whined a little.   She said she was looking for her pawrents.  She misses them.  She says our Puppy doesn't throw nearly enough food off the table for her to nom on.  Actually, he's pretty much passed that phase, sorry Miss Baja.

Stuffy's Sunday Report

Hi!  Me again!

I think Miss Baja is enjoying her stay here at Camp Stuffy.  She wasn't so sure last night, I think she missed her family very much.  Puppy woke up in the middle of the night though and Miss Baja was right there making sure he was ok.  She has her own girl puppy at home - a little younger than our Puppy- so she's used to playful puppies.  Oh, and she did the rounds with Mom last night to make sure the house was locked up and to do a patrol of the backyard.  Mom has missed that apparently.

I think we exhausted Miss Baja out.

This morning she says she had such FUN on her morning walk with Mom with lots of things to sniff and investigate.  We all had a nice relaxing day full of cuddles and getting to know each other.  Mom has never been around a long haired dog before so she had fun brushing Miss Baja.  I think Miss Baja enjoyed some of it too.  She had another FUN walk in the afternoon and we just came back from an evening walk.

And Miss Baja found that ceramic floors are the best place to cool off after a Noseventure!

Mr Shih Kwan knew that

Mr. Bolo did that too sometimes, but Mom never got a picture.

Pei-Ess - The internets says Miss Baja is probably an American Cocker Spaniel.  Phew!  I didn't have to ask.  Thank you to everyone who helped with that hunt.

New Friend Friday! ACK! I mean Saturday!

Hi!  Stuffy here!  I'd like to introduce you to Beautiful Baja.

She'll be staying with us for a few days and Mom said I could help her blog!  She only speaks French, so she'll tell me what to write, and I'll translate.  Being a stuffie, I understand every language on earth, it's a gift we're given.  Anyway, Welcome Baja!

I have to say first of all, I'm a little embarrassed.  I don't know what kind of spaniel Baja is and I'm a little embarrassed to ask.  Is that something doggies can ask each other?  I don't want to seem rude.

Anyway, Baja says she's been really excited ALL DAY to come to Camp Stuffy.  She has the cutest little tail (Are spaniel tails cropped?  Am I allowed to ask that?) and it hasn't stopped wagging since she got here.  She's a little worried about her people, but she's still trying to discover all the nooks and crannies in our house too.  I think she'll be fine.  Don't worry Baja's Mom!  I'll take good care of her.

ETA: ACK!  I put Friday instead of Saturday!  I must be too excited.

How Exciting!

Stuffy here!

There's some excitement planned for this weekend.

We're puppy sitting for a friend.

I don't have a lot of details yet, but apparently she's a little spaniel, and Mom said I could help her blog!  I'm looking forward to this.  Mom has been longing for nose kisses.  Dad's a little harder to read, but I'm sure he'll appreciate some waggy-ness in the house.

Oh boy I hope she likes me!

Mom's Monday Report

The Mom here.

Puppy woke up this morning as per usual and chatted away with his stuffies.  When I went to see him he said "Doggy."  There are no dogs in his room, only fish, so I had to guess that Angel Bolo had been checking up on us.  I asked Puppy if it was Bolo, and he replied, "Bolo.  Doggy.  Woof woof.  All gone.  Bye bye."

Later in the morning as I was checking emails, a photo of Bolo appeared in the background and I hear, "Bolo! All gone.  Bye bye." and Puppy blew kisses at the picture.  I'm in tears just remembering it.

I was going to contact a Shar Pei rescue about possibly adopting one of their dogs, or at least introducing ourselves to them.  But I don't think I'm ready yet.

Boy I could really use a nose kiss right now.

Oh dear oh dear

Stuffy here.  I may be in trouble.

Mr. Bolo left me in charge of the family but he never mentioned anything about the house or the yard.  I'm afraid I saw a SQUIRREL in the backyard this morning!  Oh dear oh dear.

Just a quick update on the people.  Puppy is doing just fine.  Mom and Dad .... well, they're managing. Don't worry, I'm taking good care of them.
