Song for Saturday

So Miss Lola, of Peidays Blog, asked me out on a date for this date night thing next week.  (Just to let you know Lola, I have to get back on time because next week is Dad's birthday, I don't want to miss that party, but you're welcome to join us.)

Mom said it would be nice to get Miss Lola something special for the occasion.  I thought flowers, or cookies but Mom said she might be allergic and yeah, cookies would be nice but it might suggest that I wanted her to get fat.  (I think Mom has been watching too many profiling shows).  When we told Grandad that I was going out on a date with Miss Lola, Grandad started singing.  Just one line, but it gave Mom and I an idea and we asked Dad to help.

Apparently there's another famous person named Lola (I didn't know that, but it wouldn't surprise me if she had been named after Lola Shar Pei).  You can find her song here.  Dad basically used the melody.

Hope you like it Lola!  (And thanks Dad!)

Her name was Lola, she was a Shar-Pei
She had tawny brush coat hair, and soft wrinkles down to there
She would go walkies and update blogspot
And then she would write her blog –she was such a busy dog.
She’d drool on the keyboard, and then roll upon the floor,
She is young and lots of fun,
Who could ask for more!

At the Date night, the doggy date night,
The hottest place to be online site,
At the Date Night, the doggy date night,
Waggy and Wrinkly, (And yes sometimes stinky)
At the date night… it went to the dogs.

His name was Bolo, he was a Shar-Pei
He likes to write his blog, but the puppy is a hog,
He’s taking Lola, for doggy date night,
They’re going to shake and wag, until all their wrinkles sag,
And then they’ll drink and drool, until the floor’s a pool.
Then they’ll go off for some walkies,
And then chase some squirrels!

At the Date night, the doggy date night,
The hottest place to be online site,
At the Date Night, the doggy date night,
Waggy and Wrinkly, (And yes sometimes stinky)
At the date night… it went to the dogs.

Thankful Thursday - And a Song!

Moose made me laugh yesterday in his comments. He said it looked like a nice day to go out and Pei! Everyday is a nice day to go out and Pei Moose! Pei laughter. Even though yesterday was raining and I didn't want to go outside. Rain makes you wet you know. Thanks for the laugh though Moose! You're pawesome!

So a lot of people commented on the colour of the door and how nice I looked against it. Red and black are a good combination. Mom wears it alot. Although yesterday Mom and Dad and I were all wearing purple and black. We didn't even plan it. We're so in tune with each other.

Speaking of tunes, Mom has been known to sing this song,
"Our house, is a very very fine house,
With a Shar Pei in the yard, life used to be so hard
Now everything is easy 'cause of you."

It's by Crosby Stills Nash and Young.

So, here's our house, with the Shar Pei in the yard. Just to let you know, the door wasn't always red. Mom and Dad had to have it painted a few years ago. Something about rules or something.

That's my predecessor Shih Kwan. He looks nice against the blue door. That's the weekend Mom and Dad moved into the house Mom says.

And that's me last week in the front garden making sure the frogs are ok.

Tune in tomorrow when I'm sure something exciting will happen. Or maybe Mom will sing again. Who knows.

On the lookout

I'm on he lookout for Spring. Mom says it's here but I haven't seen much of it yet. It's not as cold as it was, but I don't see any flowers or anything. I AM starting to smell squirrels though. I'm on the lookout for them too.

Mom and I took our morning walk to breakfast. On the way to drop Daddy at work Mom started singing to me. She says the tune is from an old Girl Guide Song called Black Socks.

Black Peis they never get dirty
The longer you hug them the stronger you get
Sometimes I think I should bathe him
But he just keeps telling me no no not yet not yet not yet.

Pei laughter.

Mom said something about taking the camera out for a spin this afternoon. I hope she plans on taking pictures of ME. I haven't done any pei-fessional modelling in a LONG time. I have to update my pei-folio you know. Other than that, my plans for the day include a nap, a munch, some outside time and more napping. I have to conserve energy for the pei-fessional modelling shoot you know. Pei laughter.

Happy News and a Song

Here's the song:

I am the very model of a Shar Pei individual.......

That's from the Shar Pei's of Penzance. Pei laughter

OK, here's my news. I'm entering the Mango-minster! Check it out here. My buddy Mango (Solidarity in slobbers Mango!) is a genius GENIUS for coming up with this. So I have to enter a picture before the end of the weekend so I need you're help. Which picture should I send? It took two days to narrow it down to these five. Now remember, Shar Peis are in the Non-Sporting group. That's kind of the reason I picked a few sleeping ones. So feel free to help me choose one. I'm kind of leaning towards picture 1 or 2 but I'd love to hear your opinion.

Thank you everyone. And don't forget to enter yourself in the Mango-Minster!

Songs for The Pei

Mom and Dad sing at me sometimes you know. They make up a lot of songs using tuns they hear on the radio, or CD. Mom's favorite is "I'm being followed by a Pei Shadow" song to the song "I'm being followed by a Moon Shadow" by Cat Stevens. Woah, wait, someone named their child CAT? Is there someone named Dog out there?

Anyway, here's Mom being followed by a Pei Shadow.
Pei laughter. Maybe I'll make this a regular feature and write stuff down when they sing at me.
