Movie Monday!

My Bionic Grandpa had a birthday last week so we all ended up at Bionic Grandpa and Grammy's house.

In case you don't know, Bionic Grandpa and Grammy live in the middle of a forest with a lake in their backyard.

Mom made a movie of me doing my absolute FAVORITE activity when we visit Bionic Grandpa and Grammy.

SQUIRREL CHASING!

Enjoy! (Might get a bit loud, watch your volume.)

Wednesday = Recovery Day

I don't know about anyone else, but I need to stay home today and recover from yesterday.

My day started out with a nice walk with Mom and Puppy.  All told, it was about 1.5 kilometers - which is almost 1 mile.  Anyway, I'm not used to that type of walk.  It was FANTASTIC!  Until the guy with the off leash pug showed up.  I wasn't going to let that dog near me OR my Puppy!  S'ok, neither was Mom.  Nothing against the Pug, but I'm a guard dog you know.  He eventually went back to his owner - don't get Mom started.  Off leash dogs is a HUGE peeve with her.

Anyway, after a nice rest and some lunch, Dad came home and we all went into the car.  There was even a stop at McDonalds - which we don't eat at very often - and the more driving.  We had to drop Dad back off at work - poor him, I'm sure he would have had so much more fun with us.

We ended up at Grandma and Grandad's!  How lovely!  Mom and Puppy and Grandma and Grandad had the McDonalds (chicken nuggets, Mom doesn't eat their burgers).  Puppy - who will remain my most favorite Puppy ever if he keeps doing this - casually dropped his nuggets on the deck for me!  What a nice Puppy I have!

After lunch, we ended up here:

Is this cool or WHAT!?!?!?!?!?

It's a trail!  All flatish and paved and well looked after with plenty of peemail places! This section is about 1 km long, and there are something like four or five sections of this!  Wowzas!  We just did this section, back and forth, so 2 km or so.  Can you see why I'm still exhausti-pei-ted?

There were also a couple of benches where I could practice my show dog look.  What do you think?
Yeah, good thing I don't go to dog shows, I don't have room in the house for all those trophies and stuff.  Mom says we need to DE-clutter, not RE-clutter.

Anyway, you need a close up to see how really happy I am here:
My ears always do that when I pant.  Go figure.

Mom is still processing the last few pictures, so I hope to post more later this week!

To everything there is a REASON.

So, first of all, I want to say, I didn't do it on purpose.  I had a REASON.  Mom is big on having a reason to do everything.  If if the reason is just Because I want to.  So, about two days ago, Mom and Dad came home to see THIS:

That's the bedroom floor.  Carpet.  Underpad.  Yeah.  I did that, I admit it.  But I have a REASON!  I HAD to go outside.  Not in that need to GO outside thing, but in an I NEED to go outside.  At heart, I'm a guard dog and I can't STAND having anything in my backyard that doesn't belong there.  So OPEN THE DOOR MOM!

So, Mom happened to have the camera ready and was wondering why I was so antsy to go outside today (Maybe we can give Mom a round of applause for having the camera anywhere near her today, it's been so long I'm surprised she remembered how to use it.).  She thought maybe a squirrel or one of the neighbourhood cats was in MY backyard.  As an aside, I once made a neighbourhood cat jump straight up and onto the roof of the shed that I helped build.  I'm a nice guy that way you know.  Anyway, here's what I was determined to get OUT of MY backyard:

Do you see that?  He's on MY back steps!  Those are MY backsteps.  I threw up on them just yesterday!  He's mocking me.  I'm sure of it.

MOM!  Would you open the door PLEEEEEEEESE!

As another aside, Mom says that we'd all be in trouble of Shar Peis grew an opposeable thumb.

Gotta go!  She's heading for the door!

Thursday Tales

So I'm not the swimmer my pal Hero Shar Pei is, but occasionally, I will step into the lake.

Not only that, but I'll also go onto the dock.  That's a little scarey because it moves as you walk on it.  This is where Mom thinks I got bit by whatever bug got me.  She was being attacked as she was filming.  We went up to the house after this video was made.  That's where Mom noticed I was swelling up.

Tuesday Tales!

So this is how my Noseventures began:

All that talking in the background is an audiobook Mom and Dad were listening to.  Mom does say:
How are you doing there Bolo guy?
Are you going on Adventure?
Are you going on a Noseventure?
Lucky Bolo.  Lucky Bolo!

You'll notice I'm not the most verbal of travellers.  I USED to take up the whole backseat but since Puppy's seat went in, I only get half.  And sometimes HE touches me.  I don't like that so Mom has to "Play the police" on occasion.  Anyway, back to my Noseventure!

All good Noseventures need a Pitt Stop!

And I'll leave it at that for now.

Monday Morning Report!

Well, there were plenty of Noseventures going on this weekend, look for updates throughout the week, but I have to get this out first because Mom and I promised.

Part of my Noseventure included an emergency trip to the V-E-T because I got bitten by something and my face started to swell up to the point where my eyes were almost swollen shut.  I was still breathing ok but Mom wasn't taking ANY chances because my lips had started to swell up and were very hard to maneuver, so we headed into town - Me, Mom and Grammy.  I can't say I enjoyed the car ride too much, I was too busy trying to get comfortable and trying to scratch my nose, it was ITCHY!

So, Mom, Dad, Puppy, Grammy and Bionic Grampy and I, wish to thank this wonderful trio at Kingston Regional Pet Hospital, in Kingston, Ontario.

Katie, Kelly and Dr. Hart  (or, in the picture from left to right: Dr. Hart, Kelly and Katie, and Me).

They don't seem to have a webpage or I would have linked to them.

I also heard that one of the staff there has a Pei of her own.  I'm sorry I missed meeting her, I'm sure she would have given awesome ear scratches.

OK, I need to go and prep the rest of my blogs for the week so you know what I've been up to!

Amazing Noseventure Day!

I had the most amazing Noseventure Day!

First it started off by taking a good look at my domain.

I had to Snoopervise Mom and our neighbour Mr. J moving these into the backyard earlier this week. There were 30 of them. More info on what's going to happen with those when we have it.

So this morning, after I had Snoopervised my domain, Mom says Grandma and Grandad are coming over! WOHOO!

I love it when Grandma and Grandad come over. Mostly for this:
But I also got to snuffle Grandma - this is a big accomplishment because she doesn't really like to be snuffled. Of course, Mom didn't catch it on on the camera AT ALL. But we all saw it! So Grandma and Grandad stole some of my patio blocks - this is ok, I don't mind because they asked first. S'all good.

After that, Puppy and I had lunch together - in our respective eating areas - and then we were off on Noseventure!

Doesn't that look like a Noseventure Picture? Mom and Dad picked a great car colour didn't they? I look pretty pawesome in there!

We ended up at Auntie Brenda's! Sorry, no pictures. Mom only has two hands and she was holding on to me with one of them and Puppy with the other. Anyway, maybe because she didn't have a third hand, we ended up at Grandma and Grandad's! WOW! They must have really missed me to invite me over. I bet ya Grandma wanted another snuffle and was just too shy to ask.

It was a tiring day with all my Noseventures (by the way, they made good use of the 4 patio blocks, I made sure), so Grandad filled up a water dish for me.

Then they stuck Puppy in it.

Some days I just don't understand people you know?

Noseventures!

I'm at Day Camp! Do you see my happy face?

I had huge Noseventures yesterday when we went to visit Auntie Brenda. I also got a bunch of bug bites. She lives with lots of bugs. But she also has these two HUGE green trees that are just prime pee-mail locations. Don't worry, I left a Dogs with Blogs message for everyone to join us.

Mom sent her laptop with me so I'll be following you from here - in between cuddles. The ladies here love the nose. I have lots to tell them about my latest Noseventures you know, and I'll need ooddles of ear scratches too.

Bolo's Friday Weather Report and Other Adventures

I'm at Day Camp! Daddy walked me over this morning, it's beautiful and sunny. Mom sent her laptop with me so I'm all set to surf the quiet times away.

I had a noseventure last night! Mom and Dad took me to the Feed and Seed because Dad needed some wire for a project. I got to sniff SOOOOOO many things. The flowers were pretty too, but ti's all about the schnoz. Everything smeeled SOOOOOOO good. The cash person even gave me a cookie!

Grandma and Grandad come tomorrow! Be careful driving because there's a threat of thunderstorms in our area over the next few days.

Ooo! Gotta go, it's cuddle time!

Thankful Thursday!

First of all, I'd like to thank Chloe at Pei All The Wei for this lovely award! If you haven't met her yet, she's a Shar Pei who lives with her Mom and Dad and 5 OTHER SHAR PEIS! Can you imagine the cuteness in that house?!?!?!

Apparently there are rules to this award:
Post it to the blog and link to who gave it to you.
Choose 5 life situations that could be repeated in slow motion and explain why.
List twelve blogs and let them know you've given them the award.

OK, yeah yeah, whatever. So, 5 life situations which could be repeated in slow motion:
  1. Nose kisses - to Mom or Dad or Grandma, Grandad, Uncle Marty, Uncle Brett, whoever really, I know they'll all appreciate nose kisses from me.
  2. Visiting friends! I haven't met any of you but I think that's something that could be done in slow motion! Can you imagine all the pei-ness if Chloe and her family, ViVi, Laney and I were all in the same room? It would be a cute overload!
  3. Adventures. They're fun in fast forward too.
  4. Cuddle Sandwiches - These are best done at slow speed so everyone can appriciate them more, especially the person in the middle - which is usually me! Pei laughter.
  5. I can't think of a number 5. Sigh. OH! Snoopervising! I can snoopervise in slow motion!
OK, that's it. As for sharing, well, I think everyones blog is wonderful, so grab it if you want it! (I don't believe there should be limits on how many people can have awards, that's not chivalrous.)

OK, something else to be thankful for! Thank you MOM for taking me on a nose adventure this morning! A NOSEVENTURE! What do you think? Does it work?

So Mom said we were tkaing Daddy to work but he wasn't in the car with us. We stopped at the yummy smelling donut place and I watched Mommy get coffee and donuts, still no Daddy. Then we went to Daddy's office and THERE HE WAS! Not really sure how that happened. (Mom here, Dad rode his bike to work and we brought him breakfast. Is that love or what?) Get your own blog Mom! Sheesh. So we gave Daddy his breakfast and the donuts for his friends and Mom let me sniff around. We saw a HUGE squirrel sitting just outside his hole in the ground! (Mom: Groundhog, not squirrel) MOM! Sheesh. So I got to do this:

Lucky me! Now we're at home cooling off a little bit. It's a little warmer than we like it outside. I think I'll nap today and dream about more Noseventures!
